LawHelp.org/NY has a very large amount of legal information about many legal issues. At LawHelp.org, you can also find phone numbers for free legal services offices near you, including the New York City area. The Spanish-language site is: www.AyudaLegalNY.org.
The New York State Bar Association has a private lawyer referral service called the Lawyer Referral and Information Service. Lawyers who agree to participate will give you a first consultation of up to one-half an hour for a $35 fee. Attorneys will give FREE consultations for personal injury matters, as well as medical malpractice, social security, unemployment and workers' compensation issues.
